At Xavier College, students are engaged in learning that is preparing them for their future. Over the coming weeks you will see what this learning looks like for the students in all year groups and in all subjects. Check out what we've been doing during National Literacy and Numeracy week.
Write a book in a day
On the 18th of August, 94 students gathered to participate in the charity fundraiser event for Write a Book a Day. This event sees students work together in teams to write and illustrate their own book in just 12 hours.
Once completed, the books are donated to children in hospitals all across Australia to provide a welcome reprieve from the day to day of these children’s lives. This year, our students created 12 books, the most that has ever been created at the College.
In completing this event, these students have made a valuable contribution to their community whilst also writing and creating wonderful stories to expand not only their skills but the hearts and minds of others. We are incredibly proud of these students and their passion for writing and hope that it continues for many years to come.
