A diverse range of sports provide opportunities for skills development, the promotion of physical fitness and the achievement of leadership potential.
Xavier College believes that a well-balanced person, who gives due time to the development of physical wellbeing, as well as to the pursuit of co-curricular activities, is more likely to be successful in coping with the academic demands of secondary study.
As a member of the Parramatta Diocesan Secondary Schools’ Sporting Competition (PDSSSC), Xavier College competes in a number of sports: basketball, touch, baseball, netball, softball, volleyball, soccer, cricket, athletics, cross country and swimming. This membership ensures our students have access to Diocesan, State and National representation.
In addition, the College also regularly enters specialist competitions such as AFL, rugby union, indoor cricket, hockey and equestrian events.
All students also participate in the College’s swimming and athletics carnivals and a number of recreational and leisure sports are also offered.

Sporting opportunities for students offered by the PDSSSC include:
- Season 1 - Touch football, volleyball, girls softball, senior basketball
- Season 2 - Soccer, netball, boys basketball
- Season 3 - Girls basketball, super 8 cricket, boys baseball

- aqua golf
- in-line skating
- ice skating

Some interest electives are run consecutively with recreational sport. Students are informed of this at the beginning of each season.
