Mystery Genre
Hot off the press! Students in Year 8 have begun our reinvigorated novel study with a focus on the Mystery genre.
Brand new contemporary novels have been purchased and the 2020 Year 8 cohort are the first ones to get their hands on our new texts. Students are studying Tristan Bancks' novels The Fall and Two Wolves and Sue Whiting's novel Missing. They have been busy looking at the ways authors engage the reader in the orientation by annotating elements of characterisation, plot and setting.
We have some very eager readers who are enthusiastic about these novels and the genre chosen for this term. Students will use these texts as a springboard for writing their own mystery stories. Keep up the good work Year 8!
